ERROR-CORRECTION SYSTEMS DESIGN

Seagate Technology
Designed the first in industry Reed-Solomon ECC which corrects errors "on the fly" for the Seagate's drives disk controllers. This design results in an increasing of a recording density.

Advanced Micro Devices
Provided an ECC design with a minimum complexity for correctionof multiple bursts for AMD disk controller.

Insite Perephirals and Iomega
Provided an ECC design for floptical drives. This ECC becomes "de-facto" standard for floptical drives.

Samsung Electronics
Provided 88 bit and 144 bit ECC designs for Samsung's disk drives. The 88 bit ECC design has essentially less number of gates than similar designs used in disk drive industry and a better performance. The 144 bit ECC has better performance than similar disk drives ECC designs (data transfer rate up to 25 Mbytes/sec in comparison with typical data transfer rate up to 10 Mbytes/sec).

Xebec Corporation
Developed a new implementation of ECC for CD ROM which needs only 5,000 gates and provided data transfer rate up to 20 X (3 mbytes/sec)

Premisys Communications
Provided consulting services in designing a forward ECC which allows for increase of a throughput of a telecommunications system.

M - Systems
Provided 48-bit ECC design for M - Systems' flash cards.
